Sandee History

Our company history reads like the story of the extrusion industry itself, and our custom and standard extrusions are hard at work for hundreds of companies in dozens of industries.

Founded by Elmer Szantay and named after his daughter Dee (“San-Dee”), Sandee becomes an early pioneer in plastics and helps develop the manufacturing process known as plastic extrusion.

Late 1940s – ENTERING THE TOY INDUSTRY

Sandee pursues opportunities in the emerging plastic toy market. At the time, most toys were made from wood or metal, making plastic toys a bold and innovative concept. Engineering drawings from these toy concepts remain displayed in our lobby today.

Sandee launches the most comprehensive employee education and training programs in company history, focusing on building a highly skilled workforce to support future growth and innovation.

Picture of some Sandee's employees
when we say we’ll do something, we do it.

We were old school
before it became cool again.

Sandee’s profile design and extrusion processes offer leading-edge innovation and are as technologically advanced as you’ll find in the industry.

But our ethics were forged in an earlier, simpler time. A time when you looked people in the eye and gave them your word. A time when it just didn’t sit right to do a job halfway. A time when a promise meant something.

We think there’s still a place for those kind of values. So if you’re looking for someone to work on your challenges until they’re solved to your satisfaction, if you want a supplier who keeps looking for ways to save you money and time, contact us.
